about us ... then
We are John and Nikki Callahan, a husband and wife team located in Pataskala, Ohio, and we love French Bulldogs!
John saw his first Frenchie walking with its owner in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida one day. Intrigued by its unique appearance, he turned his truck around and asked the woman what the breed was. She replied, "This is a French Bulldog!" He immediately called me on the phone and tried to describe this dog to me -- my husband rarely gets excited like this -- "It was the stockiest, most muscular little dog I've ever seen!" I was a little jealous of his experience because I was in the veterinary field and had never had the pleasure of seeing what a French Bulldog looked or acted like for myself.
We went to visit a puppy just so I could see one in person. It was adorable, but I just couldn't understand or justify the high price tag ($4,850 at the time). He was champion-sired, but I didn't really care about that. I thought long and hard about it and did a lot of research on how they are bred. I finally understood why they cost so much but still couldn't understand paying that much. John continued to beg for this puppy for the next three days and didn't stop talking about this little fella. I started thinking to myself that my husband served nine years in the U.S. Marine Corps., is great father, wonderful husband, and never asks for anything -- wasn't this the least I could do for him? I gave him the money and he bolted out of the house as fast as he could. The puppy was in our home before I knew it. We enjoyed it so much that I got carried away and put down a deposit on two more little females less than a week after getting our first one. My husband warned me about getting carried away (oh, the irony!), so I ended up bringing just one of those females home. And that's what started our Frenchie addiction / hobby. These days I always joke and say, "Hey baby, look how many Frenchies I'm able to give you now!"
Frenchies are like no other breed, no other animal on earth. To us, they are the best breed. We couldn't imagine our lives without them. Our days are filled with so much laughter and joy. They are the clowns of the canine family and they are addicting, please ask any Frenchie owner.

about us ... now
Since those early days, our bitches, studs, litters, and many of our puppies have graced the front covers and several pages of major magazines, including Popular Dog Magazine. When people visit, we love showing off the covers. We do a little bragging - we just can't help it! We love our dogs so much and are so proud of them. We actually still have a bitch that's in one of our older magazines!
We love each and every one of our Frenchies -- adults and babies -- and care deeply about our Frenchie owners. We are very passionate about making the entire experience as close to perfect as possible. Our goal is to make our puppy owners happy from the beginning of the process and throughout the dog's long, healthy life. All of our puppy owners can contact us 24/7 with any questions whatsoever. No question is ever too small, and we are always available for anything.
We love educating about a raw diet -- which is biologically appropriate for a canine -- how to prepare inexpensive raw diets, about nutrition, veterinary medicine, reproduction, training, socialization, and behavior. We also teach puppy owners how to treat their dogs with basic, inexpensive remedies that are highly effective on most typical issues dog owners will encounter. Most basic treatments can be bought from the dollar store, not the vet's office.
I have coordinated a few American Animal Hospital Association accredited hospitals that included around 45 DVM's and even coordinated the hospitals owned by the president of AAHA. I have been in the veterinary field since 1994 working in kennels, grooming facilities, as a veterinarian assistant, a veterinarian technician, and as a hospital manager while working my way up to coordinating several AAHA accredited emergency hospitals. I even served as a spokesperson on how to turn an animal hospital over to impeccable numbers in a short time using basic procedures.
My husband and I have worked closely together with several rescue organizations, and with several other breeding programs along with our own. John has learned most everything I have been trained for. We are highly qualified to answer or help with most all medical situations. It's truly our passion.
